Can you believe this is our last January Bookmarks post this year? We hope your 2016 has been off to a great start! As usual, we are brimming with news stories to share and discuss, so let’s get to it, shall we?

1. Bell Let’s Talk Day Encourages Conversations About Mental Health

This Wednesday was the annual #BellLetsTalk Day. Aimed towards starting conversations about mental health and ending the stigma of mental illness, the #BellLetsTalk initiative pledges to donate 5 cents for every use of the hashtag to Canadian mental health institutions. This year, they raised over $6 million! We joined in by sharing our favourite quotes from this week’s 50 Book Pledge Featured Read: Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig. 2. Lena Coakley’s Worlds of Ink and Shadow is a #1 Globe and Mail Bestseller!

If you’ve been following us on social media, you’ll know that we love Lena Coakley‘s Bronte-inspired novel Worlds of Ink and Shadow. 3. Bernard Cornwell Shares His Tips to Relieve Adaptation Anxiety

For any authors who are going through adaptation anxiety, here are some tips from a pro! Bernard Cornwell‘s Last Kingdom series was recently adapted by the BBC as a mini-series, and he shared some valuable tips on how to navigate this scary (but exciting!) journey with Bookish. Read Bernard Cornwell’s four important tips here. (Perhaps Daniel Handler — aka Lemony Snicket — will take note? His bestselling A Series of Unfortunate Events is currently in production with Netflix.)

4. Amy Poehler Writing Foreword for Ramona Quimby, Age 8

Amy Poehler and Ramona Quimby fans, rejoice! In honour of Beverly Cleary‘s 100th birthday, CBC Books reported that Amy Poehler will be writing a new foreword for Ramona Quimby, Age 8. We can’t wait to read it! Visit CBC Books for more information about the collaboration.

5. Bustle’s Tips For Reading A Book A Day
